Kintamani is a sub district in Bangli District, Bali Province, Indonesia. Kintamani is also a natural tourist reserve area in Bali, Indonesia. From Penelokan we have two alternatives to continue our journey in Kintamani. First we can continue north towards Batur Village. In this village we can visit one of Bali’s heavenly temple called Bali Pura Batur. This temple was originally located in the southwest of Mount Batur which was then moved along with the move of the villagers to the top. The second alternative we can go down to the center of Kedisan Village to then cross across the lake to an old village called Terunyan. In Terunyan Village we can see an ancient Balinese civilization called Bali Aga. In this village people who have died are not buried but placed just under a tree. These bodies do not smell at all.

Tirta Empul Temple
Pura Tirta Empul and baptism is located in the village area of Manukaya, District Tampaksiring, Gianyar regency, Bali. Exactly is located approximately 40 km to the northeast of the city of Denpasar. Tampaksiring area can be said that the region has historical value. In addition there are Pura Tirta Empul and his bath, also former First Presidential Palace, and Pura Gunung Kawi. It is estimated that the name Tampaksiring comes from (the Balinese language) word appears which means “palm” and siring meaning “tilt”. The meaning of the two words is said to be related to a piece of legend that is written and implied on a palm leaf, stating that the name is derived from the footprint of the foot of a king named Mayadenawa.
It is narrated that King Mayadenawa was arbitrary and did not allow the people to perform religious ceremonies to ask for salvation from God Almighty. After the act was known by the Gods, the gods headed by Bhatara Indra attacked Mayadenawa. Mayadenawa lost and fled to the north of Tampak Siring Village. With his supernatural powers he created a poisonous spring resulting in the army of Bhatara Indra who chased him to death from drinking the water. Seeing this Bhatara Indra immediately poked his spear and “water out of the ground” (Tirta Empul). This Holy Water is used to sprinkle the Gods so that not some time can live again as usual. A lot of tourist who visit this temple doing water blessing for their purity in mind.
Like other temples in Bali, Pura Tirta Empul is divided into 3 parts namely Nista Mandala is the most out of the temple which can also be called ‘jabe sisi’, Madya Mandala is the center of the temple after the usual mandala nista also called ‘jabe tengah ‘And the last is Main Mandala is the main part of the temple which is usually called’ Jeroan’. In the Madya Mandala section there is a rectangular pool that has approximately 30 showers lining from east to west and facing south. According to the surrounding community, every shower in this pond has its own name, such as the Filling of Obstacles, Fountains Pembersian, Sudamala Shower and Cetik Shower (poison). Tourist should wear sarong when they enter the temple and when they do the water blessing on the ponds and the holy showers.
Gunung Kawi Temple
Ubud has many interesting places to visit, one of them is Pura Gunung Kawi which is near to Pura Tirte Empul. This temple has beautiful natural beauty and extraordinary architecture. Gunung Kawi means “Mountain” and “Kawi = in chisel”, because Gunung Kawi temple is chiseled on the side of a high cliff that resembles a mountain. This temple is not only a carving on the cliff wall but the vast Temple complex, ranging from sculptures to the temple to the main temple. This temple complex is split by a river pakerisan so that the temple is carved on the side of this cliff looks like facing each other. The size of this temple is fairly large with a height of nearly 10 meters with a width of 30 meters.
Gunung Kawi temple is located in Tampak Siring village, only 1 hour drive by vehicle or 40km from Denpasar. Gunung Kawi Temple was built in the 11th century AD where Bali was then led by a king named Udayana from the dynasty of Warmadewa which is believed to come from Sriwijaya. Gunung Kawi Temple is believed to be originally intended for the graves of the kings of Bali and as a symbol of the power of the Balinese king of that time. Then this temple was rediscovered by Dutch archaeologist team in 1920. other version mention that this temple was built by Kebo Iwa, he is Patih kingdom of Bali. It is said he built this temple by just using his nails in a day; of course this version is still questionable truth.
Goa Gajah Temple
Goa Gajah is an artificial cave that serves as a place of worship of Hindus and Buddhists during the reign of the dynasty of Warmadewa from X – XIV century AD. This cave is located in Bedulu Village, Blahbatu District, Gianyar Regency, Bali. It is approximately 27 km from Denpasar. Gajah Goa complex consists of 2 main parts; the northern complex is the legacy of the teachings of Shiva, with evidence of the Trilingga and Ganesha statue in the cave, is where Hindus do worship. The south part of Goa Gajah that is Tukad Pangkung area, in the form of Buddha stupa in Dhyani Buddha Amitabha stacked 13 stupa and branched stupa 3 statue carved big.
At the front there is a statue of Hariti, Ganesha statue, statue [[Giant. The statue of Queen Brayut or Hariti (Avesta Harauhuti) is believed to be an evil character but after studying Buddhism she transforms into a loving child, as seen in the statue. In addition there is a statue of a Shower in a sacred bathing pool that because of the time buried in the soil. When J. L Krijgman was head of the Archaeological office in Bali, the 1954 baptism was excavated.
In bathing or pentirtaan pool there are statues Widyadara and Widyadhari. Widyadhari statue of this shower there are six pieces. Three lined up in the north and three in the south. This angel statue is placed on a lotus pad or padma. Padma is the symbol of Hyang Widhi’s stana universe. While Widyadara statue is in the middle sixth Widyadhari. This is based on the Sapta Nadi concept of the seven sacred rivers of Gangga, Sindhu, Saraswati, Yamuna, Godawari, Serayu and Nar. This cave is engraved on hard rocks that jutted out as far as 5.75 meters from the stone wall, measuring 6.75 meters high and 8.6 meters wide. The surface of the cave is decorated with leaf motifs, rocks, giants, apes, and pigs. In the middle of the relief there is a mouth cave relief with a width of 1 meter and 2 meters high. At the mouth of the cave there is a gigantic sculpted facial sculpture with large round eyes glancing towards the right, hair and eyebrows look rough, big nose, upper lip with a row of teeth right above the cave hole. On the eastern wall of the cave there are two lines of the inscription read ‘Kumon’ and the lower row of ‘Sahy (w) geese’ observes the shape of the letter dating from the 11th century.
After entering the cave there are two branching vacancies, one to the east and one to the west so that the plan resembles the letter ‘t’. The alley that stretches from east-west is 13.5 meters long, 2.75 meters wide and 2 meters high. On the north wall of the alley across the west there are 7 niche pieces, one of the 7 niches facing the cave entrance and is the largest niche with a height of 1.26 meters, 1.35 meters deep, located 0.7 meters from the surface soil. Inside is a fragment of a giant statue and fragment statue siwa. At both ends of the alley across the east-west there is also a niche. The niche at the eastern end is a trilingga and a niche at the western tip is the statue of Ganesha.
