Indonesia is famous as an agricultural country, so Indonesia cannot be separated from agriculture. The traditional system and tools in agriculture can be learned in the Subak Museum located in the Tabanan area. It is located on Jl. Gatot Subroto, Kediri village, Tababnan regency. Subak Museum is a museum that provides information relating to irrigation system (irrigation) of traditional rice field of Bali Subak. The museum is located in Tabanan City, Bali Province. This museum is a special museum about the agricultural system in Bali characterized by the independence of the eternal foundation “Tri Hita Krana”, the concept of balance of the three causes of happiness.
The establishment of the Subak Museum was initiated by I Gusti Ketut Kaler on 17 August 1975, which had the idea to preserve Subak traditional institution as one of the nation’s cultural heritage. Basically subak (method of water irrigation system) has existed in Bali since the ancient Balinese era of the 11th century, and is still developing today, which is a reflection of identity with the basic philosophical characteristics of “Tri Hita Karana”, that is the concept of balance of the three causes of happiness ( The balance between human beings (Pawongan), harmony between man and nature (Palemahan), and the balance between man and God (Parahyangan) In October 1981 Subak Museum was inaugurated by the Governor of Bali at that time, Prof. Ida Bagus Mantra.
With the rapid development of science and technology, it is undeniable that it will also affect the existence of Subak, and if this happens, then all traditional tools will quickly change, so it will be very difficult to trace and reassemble all the equipment Used in traditional agrarian life in Bali, especially the subak farm life itself. And it also includes the example of a traditional house, which follows the Balinese Hindu concept of spatial commonly known as the “Asta Kosala-Kosali-Kosali and Asta Bumi” concept, then this idea finally realizes that Subak’s existence is very important, which then becomes a concept for the establishment of the Museum Subak. The basis for the emergence of this idea is also to keep Subak as a kind of cultural heritage. Subak Museum becomes the Disorientation of one tourist attraction in Tabanan Bali that is interesting and visited by many students, students or tourists. There are several things that become consideration why Subak Museum was established / built in the area of Tabanan Regency Bali, such as:
- Tabanan has the most widespread rice fields in the province of Bali so often dubbed as the Rice Balin Bali.
- The number of subak organizations in Tabanan is the most in comparison with other districts on the island of Bali.

Rambut Siwi Temple
Pura Rambut Siwi – approximately 17 km east of the city State – is a temple to worship God as the god of agriculture. Turning down in the southeast part of Rambut Siwi temple there is Pura Segara. This temple is also called Pura Taman. Next to Pura Segara there is Pura Penataran. In the event praying especially when there are pujawali or piodalan, the three temples are very visible linkage. Pujawali is held every six months wuku on the day Buda Umanis Prangbakat. Generally, if we pray to Pura Rambut Siwi this must also be done praying in Pura Segara and Pura Penataran. Climb to the top of the western part of the Rambut Siwi temple stands majestic. Taking into account the arrangement of the three temples, the temple is very old. Because before Mpu Kuturan teaches the construction of Kahyangan Tiga in every pakraman village in Bali there are already three types of temples in every kingdom in Bali namely Pura Segara, Pura Penataran and Pura Puncak. Pura Rambut Siwi is classified as Pura Puncak because it is located at the peak or in the highlands when viewed from Pura Segara and Penataran. This symbolizes the worship of God animating Bhur Loka, Bhuwah Loka and Swah Loka. The three temples illustrate that God is everywhere, in the lower, middle and upper realms.
In addition, these three temples as a medium to apply for peace in Tri Loka. Pleasing the peace at Tri Loka was stated in the Atharvaveda mantram in the above quotation. If the sky, air and earth and water in the earth are in a peaceful state then the agrarian life that stems on the existence of agriculture must take place properly. People in the area of Jembrana appeal to God in Rambut Siwi Temple with Pura Penataran and Pura Segara so that the earth, air and sky are not disrupted its function becomes the source of agrarian economic life in Jembrana. Economic prosperity is highly dependent on the needs of the people will eat, drink, clothing and housing. If the soil and water are damaged, the dirty air is full of pollution then the farm will be difficult to develop properly.
Why is this temple now better known as Rambut Siwi Temple? It is related to the mythology of the arrival of Mpu Dang Hyang Nirartha from East Java or Majapahit to Bali. According to Mpu Bhaskara Murti from Geria Madu Sudana in the city of State, when Mpu Dang Hyang Nirartha to Bali one of the temples that he visited is Pura Rambut Siwi. As he entered the temple, the temple guard required that Mpu Dang Hyang Nirartha pray in the temple. Otherwise, he will be pounced by a tiger. As required, worship him in the temple. It turned out that the temple was destroyed. Therefore, the guardian of the temple finally apologizes to Mpu Dang Hyang Nirartha. In addition, the temple guardian requested that the temple be restored to its original state. Upon the affirmation of Mpu Dang Hyang Nirartha, the temple was again intact as it once was. Mpu Dang Hyang Nirartha picked up a hair she put on the temple to be used as a means of worship at the temple. Since then the temple was named Pura Rambut Siwi. The name Rambut Siwi is more popular today.
